They were married after banns according to the Church of Scotland by John Graham D.D. from Killearn [Mary's granduncle] and the witnesses were James Stirling [could be Mary's father or brother] and [Mary's uncle] Walter Reid.3 
1861 CensusThomas and Mary Reid appeared on the 1861 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Loig. This was the residence of Alexander Kinross, and Thomas was noted to be his nephew. Thomas was 41, married, a farmer, and born in Ardoch. Mary was 23 and born in Ardoch. Also in the household were 3 dairy maids, a cow feeder and a ploughman.1 
1871 CensusThomas and Mary B [sic] appeared on the 1871 Census of Ardoch, Perthshire, at Loig Farm House. Thomas was a farmer of 210 Acres, employed 3 Labourers & 3 Men, age 47, birthplace Ardoch. Mary was 33, birthplace Ardoch. Their children were Mary (9), Elisabeth (7), Maggie (6), and Lillias (2). Also there were 3 general servants and a ploughman.6 
(with Parents) 1881 CensusMary Reid Stirling appeared on the 1881 Census of Ardoch, Perthshire visiting with her parents. She was married, 43 years old, a farmer's wife, and was born in Dunblane.7 
(Other) 1891 CensusMary R Kinross appeared on the 1891 Census of Kirknewton & East Calder, Midlothian, in the household of Thomas and Lizzie Torrance. She was a farmer's wife, age 53, born in Craighead, Perthshire. Lizzie was her daughter and she probably came to help out with their new baby, Mary.8 
1901 CensusThomas and Mary appeared on the 1901 Census of Dysart, Fife, at West 10 Farm. Thomas was 80 years old, a farmer, and born in Chaock [sic], Perthshire. Mary was 63, a farmer's wife, and also born in Chaock [perhaps this is a poor rendition of Ardoch]. With them was their daughter Mary (39) and a visitor (William Swan, 45, commercial traveller).9 
(Widowed) DeathHer husband Thomas died on 5 Dec 1913.10 
(Dtr died) DeathMary sent out funeral cards when her daughter Mary died 22 Apr 1926 in Sauchie, Dupplin, Perthshire.11
DeathMary died on 3 Sep 1926 in Holmes Farm, Kilmarnock.
The certificate noted that she was 89, the widow of Thomas Kinross, farmer, and her parents were James Stirling, farmer and Mary Reid Stirling, both deceased. Her daughter Agnes Kinross was present.10
