Mary Servilas was born in Adrian, Michigan, in 1896, the 13th of 14 children. Her father died when she was about 11 and her mother when she was 21. After that, she lived in Cleveland with her sister Kate Avery and worked as an operator at a power press. She married Marvin Suydam in 1922 and they had four children: Robert, Ruth, Richard, and Raymond
Servilas died in 1976 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Lenawee County, Michigan.

He was a veteran of the World War. Servilius was 33, first married at 26, born in Michigan, father born in Ireland, and mother in New Jersey. Their children Robert E and Ruth were living with them.8
