They had been married 9 years and owned their farm free. Their children Thursa, Voorhees and Harold LaRue were living with them, as well as May's widowed mother Catherine Merchant.5

Charles was 61, born in Michigan, parents born in New Jersey, and was a farmer working a general farm on his own account. Hattie was 49 and born in Michigan. At home were son Laroue (20, farm labor) and stepson Earnest W Brown (13).9 
(Mentioned) ObituaryHe was mentioned in Richard Suydam's 1924 obituary as brother Charlie from Dundee.10
