Voorhess was 56, a Farmer, had $3600 in real estate and $1500 in personal estate, was a US citizen and was born in New Jersey. Catharine was 43, Keeping House, and born in New Jersey. At home were Jacob (19, working on farm), Catharine (24), Caroline (21), Joseph (18), Sophia (15), Richard (14), Charles (12), Mary (9), Margaret (7), George (5), Lottie (3), and John (1 month). The children from Sophia down to George attended school.6
(Widowed) DeathHer husband Ralph died on 13 Jul 1870.7
1880 CensusCatharine Suydam appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Dundee Township, enumerated 12 Jun 1880. Kate was 53, widowed, born in New Jersey, as were her parents, and was Keeping house. Her children at home were Richard (23, with wife Anna and children Clarence and Edith), Charles (21), Mary (19), Maggie (17), George (15), and Ralph (10).4
DeathCatharine died on 29 Oct 1881 in Dundee, Monroe County, Michigan.
The death certificate stated that she was a widow, age 52, born in Michigan, a Housekeeper, and died of lung inflammation. Her parents' names were not recorded.8
