William was 66, born in Michigan, father born in Ohio, mother in New York. Minnie was 51, born in Germany. Neither had an occupation. At home were Roy Peter (21, soldier) and William H (18, worker at fence factory).10 
1930 CensusWilliam and Minnie Van Zandt appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan, at 623 West Beecher Street, enumerated 15 Apr 1930. They owned their $1500 home but did not have a radio. William was 76, first married at 23, born in Michigan, father born in Ohio, mother in English Canada. Minnie F was 62, first married at 20, born in Michigan to German parents, and worked as a housekeeper for private families.11
