     Peter was born in 1829 in New Jersey. He had one older sister. Their mother died when Peter was only a year or two old and his father remarried. The family moved to Darke County, Ohio and Peter's stepmother died in 1844.
     The family moved to Monroe County, Michigan where Peter, age 21, married Louisa M Teal. Peter was a farmer and the father of 8 children. He died at the age of 54.

Louisa was 50, Keeping house and born in New York, father born in New York, mother in Canada. The children at home were William (26), Mary (22), George (16), and Arthur (9). Also in the household was David Van Pelt, age 96, born in New Jersey, and recorded as Peter's 'S Grand Father.1'
