They were Presbyterian and their children were Lilian (14), Ella (8), Edith (6), and Frederick (3). [Lilian was Sarah's daughter by a previous marriage and had the surname Thompson at her marriage in 1898]6 
1901 CensusFredk C and Sarah Borsh appeared on the 1901 Census of Toronto, York County, Ontario. With them was their daughter Ella D (17). Frederick was 44, born 18 March 1857 in rural Ontario, origin German, religion Lutheran, and was a Hotel Keeper working on his own account and employing others. He earned $1000. Frederick's mother tongue was German but he could read, write, and speak English. Sarah was 44, born 14 July 1856 in rural Ontario, English origin. Enumerated with them were two hotel porters, a cook, housemaid, pantry maid, kitchen girl, table girl, and cellarman. Except for the cook who earned $240, they each earned between 100 and 144 dollars.7
