Eliza Ellen Paisley went by the name Ella. Her father died when she was a teenager and at age 20 or 21 she married William Sankey Thompson. They had five children who reached adulthood (and 2 or 3 who died young). Although her siblings and previous generations stayed close to Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, Ella and William did not. When in their 50s, they moved to Cleveland as did their children Julia (Jewel), James, and Bessie, the wife of Thomas Kennedy. Sons Charles and Wade stayed in Pennsylvania, where Ella and William are buried.
