1881 CensusWilliam R and Mary Ann appeared on the 1881 Census of Thorverton, Devon, at Rull Farm. William was 69, a Farmer of 22 acres, and born in Thorverton. Mary Ann was 52 and born in Cadleigh. At home were Cora (19) and Frank (13.)8 
1891 CensusWilliam R and Mary Ann appeared on the 1891 Census of Thorverton, Devon, at Rull Farm, enumerated 5 Apr 1891. William was 78, a Farmer, and born in Thorverton. Mary Ann was 62 and born in Cadeleigh. Also there were son Frank (23) and their daughter Cora Leach (29, widow) along with grandchildren Frederick (3) and Florence (1) Leach as well as 2 Agricultural labourers.9
