Research Note Drusilla was recorded twice in the 1841 census. Her grandparents' house was about 8 miles away from her family's home. 
(with Parents) 1841 CensusDrucella [sic] appeared on the 1841 Census of Tiverton, Devon in the household of her parents. She was age 5 and born in the county. Her parents were the schoolmaster and mistress of the Tiverton workhouse.4 
1841 CensusShe also appeared on the 1841 Census of Cheriton Fitzpaine, Devon, at Thongsleigh Mill, enumerated 6 Jun 1841. Drusilla was age 5 and born in the county. She was at her Channing grandparents' house. Note that the 1841 census records ages rounded down to the nearest 5 years, does not record relationships, and only indicates whether or not the person was born in the county.5

1861 CensusWilliam and Driscilla appeared on the 1861 Census of Murray Township, Northumberland County, Ontario. They lived in a one story log house. William was a farmer, born in England, age 27 and married. Drusilla was 25 and born in Upper Canada [sic]. Their religion was Wesleyan Methodist. [Note: ages in the 1861 census were as of the next birthday]8 
1871 CensusWilliam and Lucilla [sic] Arnott appeared on the 1871 Census of Seymour Township, Northumberland County, Ontario. William was 37, born in Ontario, and was a farmer. Drusilla was 35 and born in England. Their religion was Church of England. The children were Thomas (10, attended school), Mary (7), Sarah (3), and William (1). Ages were as of the next birthday.9 
1881 CensusWilliam and Drucilla appeared on the 1881 Census of Seymour Township, Northumberland County, Ontario. William was 47, married, born in Ontario, and a farmer. Drucilla was 43 and born in England. Their religion was Church of England. Their children were Thomas (20), Mary (15), Sarah (13), William (12), Charles (10), Annie (6), Clara (4), and James (2). Sarah, William, and Charles attended school.10 
1891 CensusWilliam and Drusilla appeared on the 1891 Census of Seymour Township, Northumberland County, Ontario. The Arnotts lived in a one story wooden house with 8 rooms. William was 53, born in Ontario, parents born in England, religion Church of England, and was a Farmer. Drusilla was 51, born in England, parents born in England, and religion Church of England. The whole family could read and write. Their children at home were Thomas (30), Marey (25), Sarah (23), William (21), Charles (19), Annie (16), Clarah (14), James (12), and Albert (10.)11

(Other) 1901 CensusDrusilla appeared on the 1901 Census of North Monaghan Township, Peterborough County, Ontario, in the household of her son Thomas Oliver Arnott. She was recorded as Jane, age 61, widow, born 9 May 1840 in England, immigrated in 1856, English, and religion was Church of England. Seven of her children, all unmarried, were there.13 
(Other) 1911 CensusDrusilla Arnott appeared on the 1911 Census of North Monaghan Twp, Peterborough County, Ontario, in the household of her son James. Drusilla was a widow, age 68, born in April 1843 in England, immigrated in 1900 [sic], English origins, and was Anglican.14 
Passenger ListDrusila Arnott was listed on a Detroit border crossing card dated 8 Jul 1916. She was accompanied by her daughter Anna and was going to visit her daughter Sarah Rooksby in Sand Lake Michigan. The card noted that she was age 79, born in Kingmouth England, Canadian, residence Peterboro Ontario, and her nearest relative there was son Thomas Arnott. She was 5'6", sallow complexion, gray hair, blue eyes, and carried $50. Drusila had never been in the U.S. before.15 
1921 CensusDrusilla Arnott was recorded as an inmate in the Protestant Home on the 1921 Census of Peterborough, Peterborough County, Ontario. She was a widow, age 85, born in England, immigrated in 1857, religion Church of England.16 
DeathDrusilla died on 4 Jan 1922 in 268 Munro Ave, Peterborough, Peterborough County, Ontario.
