With them was William Grills (21, clerk, relationship not noted.)9

1911 CensusAbel Grills appeared on the 1911 Census of Thurlow Township, Hastings County, Ontario, at House of Refuge. Abel was 73, a widower, birthdate not recorded, born in England, immigration date not known, of Irish origins, and Anglican. The House of Refuge had 69 male and female inmates.13 
DeathAbel died on 18 Feb 1918 in House of Refuge, Thurlow Tp, Hastings County, Ontario.
