Research Note Once in the United States, Edward reported that his birthplace was Ireland. He also added a middle name. I think it is the same person because his son visited Wright relatives in Canada and the birthdate on his declaration of intention to become a U.S. citizen was correct. In addition, a Watson Saskatchewan local history book noted his accidental death in Arizona.

BaptismHe was baptized on 31 Mar 1889 in St Peter Battersea, Surrey. He was the son of John, a potter, and Emma Mary Susanna Wright, of 9 Meyrick Road. His baby sister Ellen was baptised the same day, as was their cousin Harold Alexander Sheene.2 
(with Parents) 1891 CensusEdward appeared on the 1891 Census of Battersea, London with his parents. He was 5, a scholar, and born in Battersea, Surrey.1 
(with Parents) 1901 CensusEdward appeared on the 1901 Census of Battersea, London with his parents. He was 15, worked as a Terra Cotta brand Potter, and was born in Battersea, London.3 
ImmigrationHe immigrated to Canada in 1904.4 
(Listed) Passenger ListE Wright was found on a passenger manifest with his mother Emma and siblings on 11 Jun 1904. They traveled in steerage from Liverpool to Quebec and had train tickets to continue through to Makinak, Manitoba. He was recorded as age 10 [sic]. Several of the family's ages were mixed up.5

1906 CensusEdward Wright appeared on the 1906 Census of Watson, Saskatchewan, enumerated 13 Jul 1906. Age 24?, born England, immigrated in 1904; boarder with Thomas Robinson family.4 
Research Note This subdistrict in the 1906 census includes Townships 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36 inclusive in ranges 18, 19, 20 and townships 31, 32 in range 17, all west of the 2nd M - which covers the Wright homestead. 
AnecdoteEdward (Nip) Wright played on Watson's soccer club.6 
Research Note Not yet found in the 1911 Canadian census or the 1910 US census. 
NaturalizationEdward Wright filed his Declaration of Intention 18 December 1916 in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of California.

Born in Dublin Ireland 4th March 1886, currently residing at 473? Hartford Avenue, Los Angeles.
Emigrated from Victoria BC to Seattle the 1st day of November 1913 on the Princess Alice.7 
1920 CensusEdward Wright appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of San Diego, California, in an apartment house at 1630 3rd Street. He was the only person in his household. Edward was 32, single, year of immigration not recorded, born in Ireland, parents born in Ireland, occupation laborer in a cement plant. [This may or may not be him]8 
DirectoryHe was listed in the 1921 San Diego directory as Wright E A, struct eng, h 2230 Albatross.9 
MarriageHe married Gladys Elizabeth Bradbury.10

DeathHe died on 12 Sep 1927 at the construction site of the Coolidge Dam, Gila County, Arizona.
The death certificate was filled out by Elmer L Kier, relationship not noted. Details from the certificate: Edward Adolphus Wright, residence Coolidge Dam and 4226 Hawk Street, San Diego, Calif, had been at the dam for six months. He was married, wife's name Gladys, and he was 41 years old, born March 3rd 1886 in Ireland. His father was Edward A Wright, born in Ireland, mother's name unknown. Edward was a hydraulic and structural engineer on the Coolidge Dam. His employer was Atkinson, Kier Bros. & Spice Co. The cause of death was electrocution. He was buried in San Diego.16,17
