1891 CensusRichard and Emma Cox appeared on the 1891 Census of Christchurch, London, at 58 Hatfield Street. Richard was 44, employed as a printers broker's warehouseman, and was born in Christchurch, Surrey. Emma was 38 and also born in Christchurch. Their children were Alice M (15, dressmaker), Emily J (13), and Florence A (5). They also had one boarder.6 
1901 CensusRichard and Emma appeared on the 1901 Census of Christchurch, London, at 58 Hatfield Street. Richard was 55, a printer's warehouseman, and was born in Southwark. Emma was 47. At home were daughters Alice M (25, dressmaker), and Florence A (15). They also had two boarders.7 
1911 CensusRichard and Emma appeared on the 1911 Census of Herne Hill, London, at 90 Poplar Walk Road. Richard was 65, born in Southwark, and worked as a packer in a printer's warehouse. Emma was 57 and born in Southwark. They had been married 36 years and Emma had borne 3 children, all still living. With them in their 6 room residence was their daughter F.A. Cox (25, clerk) and one boarder.8
