Newspaper | Published 16 Oct 1865 in the Glasgow Herald. At Ballochruin, Killearn, on the 12th inst., by the Rev Matthew Meikle, of Fintry, Mr Alexander Stirling, farmer, Lanrick, Dunblane, to Agnes, second daughter of the late William Edmond, Esq of Ballochruin.4 |
1871 Census | Alexander and Agnes appeared on the 1871 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Kippendavie Farm. Alexander was the farmer of 320 arable acres and employed 6 labourers. He was 38 years old and born in Dunblane. Agnes was 28 and born in Keithan [sic], Stirlingshire. They had three children - Agnes G (4), Mary R (2), James (1), and Benjamin G (3 months). Also in the household were 2 female general servants, a farm servant, a fable? maid, a house maid, a cook, and a male general servant.5 |
1881 Census | Alexander and Agnes appeared on the 1881 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Kippendavie Cottage. Alexander was a Farmer of 500 acres of which 400 were arable, employing 5 men & 1 woman. He was 48 and born in Dunblane. Agnes was a farmer's wife, 38, birthplace Killearn, Stirlingshire. Their children were Agnes T (16), Mary R (12), William (8), and John A (7). Also there were a domestic servant and three farm servants.3 |

Her children were James (21), Benjamin (20), Thomas (8), Mary (22). Also there were her brother William and 2 servants. They lived in a house that had 8 rooms with windows.7 |
1901 Census | Agnes appeared on the 1901 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Kippendavie Mains Farm House. She was 58, a farmer's wife, and born in Killearn, Stirlingshire. Her children at home were James (31), Wm (28), and Mary (32). They had one female general domestic servant.8 |
