(with Mother) 1871 CensusMargaret [sic] appeared on the 1871 Census of Kentish Town, St Pancras, London in the household of her widowed mother Sarah. She was 12, a Domestic Servant, and was born in Kentish Town.3 
MarriageShe married Henry Bennett on 21 Feb 1875 in the Register Office, Pancras, Middlesex.

1881 CensusMary Ann Fernee appeared on the 1881 Census of St Pancras, London, at 26 Peckwater Street. Mary Ann Bennett was a widow, age 22, a Laundress, and born in London. Also at this address were Maria Stevens (a charwoman, 46, b St Pancras) and her sister Susannah Davis (41, Laundress, b St Pancras) - [possibly sisters of her mother Sarah Stevens]. Her children Rebecca and Elizabeth were living with her.6

1891 CensusMary Ann Fernee and John Henry Blackmore appeared on the 1891 Census of Pancras, London, at 69 Peckwater Street, enumerated 5 Apr 1891. John Blackmoor was 37, employed as a Coach's painter, and was born in Pancras. Maryan was 22, a Laundress and born in Pancras. Their children Rebecca and Elizabeth were with them, as well as Alexander and May (both age 5, born Fulham). Mary Ann's mother Sarah occupied one room and was enumerated as a Lodger.8 
1901 CensusMary Ann Fernee and John Henry Blackmore appeared on the 1901 Census of St Pancras, London, at 69 Peckwater Street, enumerated 31 Mar 1901. John Henry was 42, a Coach painter, and was born in St Pancras. Mary Ann was 42 and worked as a Laundress. Their daughter Elizabeth was listed as living with them, as well as May and Alexander (both age 14, born Fulham). The Blackmores occupied 4 rooms and Mary Ann's mother Sarah Fernee occupied one room.9
