They were married by John Graham, Minister of Barrack Street Church after banns according to the Congregational Presbyterian Church and the witnesses were John Paterson and James Mabin?1 
1861 CensusJohn and Agnes Reid appeared on the 1861 Census of Glasgow, Lanarkshire, at 106 McFrederick Street. John was 24, a Practical Engineer, and was born in Dunblane. Agnes was 25 and born in Mahamston [sic], Stirlingshire. Also in the household were their daughter Elizabeth M (1), John's sister Marion (18) and three boarders.3 
1871 CensusJohn and Agness appeared on the 1871 Census of Newcastle on Tyne, Northumberland, at 43 Rye Hill Street. John was age 34, a Gas Engineer born in Dumblane, Scotland. Agness was 38 and born in Stirlingshire, Scotland. They had two children, Elizabeth (11, birthplace Glasgow), William A (6, Islington) as well as one servant.4 
1881 CensusJohn and Agnes appeared on the 1881 Census of Ockbrook, Derbyshire, at Church Street "Ockbrook House". John was 44, a Gas Engineer, Midland Ry, and was born in Dunblane, Scotland. Agnes was 46 and born in Falkirk, Scotland. Their children were Lizzie (21) and William A (16). They had a visitor Herbert E Jones who was an engineer with the railway [Elizabeth's future husband], as well as one general servant.5 
(Other) 1891 CensusAgnes Reid appeared on the 1891 Census of Marple, Cheshire, in the household of her son-in-law and daughter Herbert and Elisabeth Morrison Jones. She was Herbert's mother-in-law, a widow, age 47, living on her own means, and born in Scotland.6 
1901 CensusAgnes Reid and William Allan Reid appeared on the 1901 Census of Derby, Derbyshire, at 73 Kedleston Road. William A was single, age 36, a Solicitor, and was born in Islington, London. His mother Agnes was a widow, age 68, Living on her own means, and was born in Scotland.7 
1911 CensusAgnes Reid and her son William Allan Reid appeared on the 1911 Census of Derby, Derbyshire, at Allerton Mount Duffield Road. William Allan was 45, single, a solicitor and employer, and was born in Islington, London. Agnes was 78, a widow, and born in Falkirk, Stirlingshire. They had a housemaid and a cook.8 
DeathAgnes died on 19 Oct 1913.9
