Note.Rev Andrew Kinross' will, written in 1783 and probated in 1786, left £200 to William Kinross the grandson of his brother William now deceased [this fellow is one of two such grandsons].3 
MarriageHe married Agnes Dawson, daughter of James Dawson and Isabel Graham, on 15 Jun 1794 in Dunblane.
The register recorded that William was in Cullings and Nancy in Stockbriggs.1

To my Daughter Janet Kinross whole other household furniture & plenishing, not including the dairy utensils, to be used & enjoyed by her as her own property.

Fourth
Residue of Estate for behoof of my children Isobel Bryce or Kinross wife of Peter Bryce Victualler in Glasgow, the said Thomas Kinross, James Kinross & John Kinross, the said Janet & Jean Kinross both presently residing with me at Mill of Ash, equally.

the following sum shall be deducted as already paid, from my said Daughter Isobels share one hundred Pounds, from my said son Thomas share Three hundred Pounds, from my said son James share Three hundred Pounds, from my said Daughter Janets share One hundred Pounds, from my said Daughter Jeans share one hundred Pounds and from my said Son Johns share one hundred & ninety Pounds

Isobel’s legacy is to be invested in her own names by the trustees and for behoof of William Bryce & Agnes Bryce her children and not subject to her husband’s debts or deeds.

If any shall attempt to repudiate this settlement in any way, they shall forfeit the whole of the provisions.

Codicil          
Daughter Jean Kinross has died so provisions for her have lapsed. Provisions in favour of Thomas, James, John & Janet shall vest in them immediately upon his death. The provision in favour of Isobel and her children shall remain the same.

1841 CensusWilliam Kinross and his daughter Janet appeared on the 1841 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Mills of Ash. William was a farmer, 65 years old, and born in Perthshire. Janet was 34 and born in Perthshire. Also in the household were a lodger (Cath Kerr, 14, not born in Perthshire), a female servant, and 2 agricultural labourers. [ Note that the 1841 census records ages rounded down to the nearest 5 years, does not record relationships, and only indicates whether or not the person was born in the county.]8
