(Executor & Heir) WillThomas Kinross was named executor and an heir in the will of his father William Kinross dated 4 Jun 1840. He was described as Thomas Kinross, Farmer at Spittalton. He was to have £300 deducted from his share of the residual as already paid.3 
1841 CensusThomas and Catherine appeared on the 1841 Census of Deanston Civil Parish, Perthshire, at Spittaltown. Thomas was a farmer, age 44, and born in Perthshire. Catherine was 35 and also born in Perthshire. With them were Janet (3 [sic]), William (7), Agness (6), Cathrine(3), John (2), and [name not recorded] baby (5 months), as well as two male and two female servants.5

(Inventory) ProbateThomas Kinross gave up the inventory of the estate of William Kinross on 14 Aug 1846 in Dunblane.3 
1851 CensusThomas and Catherine appeared on the 1851 Census of Kilmadock, Perthshire, at Spittalton. Thomas was 54, a farmer of 78 Acres employing 2 labourers, and was born in Dunblane. Catherine was 45, a farmers wife, and born in Dunblane. Their children were Janet (18), William (17), Agnes (15), Catherine (13), John (12), Jean (9), and Margaret (8). The youngest four were scholars. Also there were 1 farm servant & 1 farm boy.7 
(Witness) Marriage Thomas Kinross witnessed the marriage of Robert Bryce and his daughter Janet Kinross on 17 Aug 1858 in Spittletown of Coldoch, Kilmadock, Perthshire. He was recorded as Thomas Kinross Senior. The other witness was Thomas Kinross junior. Note: junior & senior can be used to differentiate two different people in the community, not necessarily father/son, or even related.8 
1861 CensusThomas and Catharine appeared on the 1861 Census of Kilmadock, Perthshire, at Spittalton Farm. Thomas was a Farmer of 135 Acres, age 64, birthplace Dunblane. Catharine was 55, birthplace Dunblane. Their children with them were Agnes (25), Catharine (23), John (22, ploughman), Jane (19), Margaret (18). There were 3 farm servants (2 male, 1 female) in the household.9 
1871 CensusThomas and Catherine appeared on the 1871 Census of Dunblane, Perthshire, at Mill Row. Thomas was a retired farmer, 74 years old, and born in Dunblane. Catherine was 66 and born in Dunblane. Their daughter Catherine (32) was with them.10 
(Informant) DeathThomas Kinross registered the 1872 death of James Kinross. He was recorded as brother, Thomas Kinross.11,2 
DeathThomas died on 13 Sep 1880 in Dunblane District, Perthshire.11,12
