Arthur was 49, born in Michigan, father born in Michigan, mother in Canada, and he worked as a Foreman at the Fence Factory. Mame was 43, born in Michigan, father Michigan, mother Canada. With them was their son Harry (19, born Kansas) working at the fence factory.5 
1930 CensusArthur Van Zandt appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan, at 605 Tabor Street. He was a widower, age 58, owned his home, had a radio, born in Kansas [sic], and was a checker at the wire fence factory. Also there were son Harry (34, fence factory laborer, world war veteran), and niece Ruth Taylor (20, divorced).6
