1930 CensusEdward and Christine Lichte appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. They rented their home for $55 a month and owned a radio. Edward was 34, married at 30, born in Kentucky, parents born in Switzerland, was a street car conductor and a veteran. Christine was 29, married at 25, born in English Canada as were her parents. They had one child, Marianna (2 3/12, Michigan.)6 
1940 CensusEdward and Christine Lichte appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, at 5190 W Martindale. They rented their home for $55 per month. Staying with them were Christine's brother Donald (36, hearse driver) and his wife Gladis (30, saleslady in ladies clothing), as well as Christine's sister Florence (32, single, assembly line laborer at refrigerator factory).
Edward was 45, born in Kentucky, worked 52 hours the previous week as a Bus Driver for the Detroit Street Railway. The previous year he worked 51 weeks for $2200 income. Edward had a 7th grade education. Christine was 39, had 4 years of high school, was born in Canada, and had alien status. They had one daughter, Mary (12, birthplace Michigan.)7
