Chester was 22, born in Illinois, parents born in Illinois, farmer on a grain farm which he owned free of mortgage, working on own account. Flora was 21, the mother of one child, birthplace Illinois, father born in English Canada, mother in Illinois. They had been married 2 years, the first marriage for both. Their daughter was Audrey (1, Illinois.)2 
1915 CensusThe family appeared on the 1915 North Dakota State Census at Medina, Stutsman County. In the household were Chester (27), Flora J (26), Audrey (7), Angie (4), and Margaret Scantan (22.)3 
DeathFlora died on 22 Oct 1918 in Stark County, North Dakota.4
 
Note.Their son Mervin McLean Davis was born 18 October 1918, Flora died of the Spanish flu on the 22nd, then the baby died on the 9th of November in Jackson County, Minnesota between the depot and the town. It seems likely that he was being taken to Flora's sister Lulu Belle who lived there with her family. 
1920 CensusAudrey A and Angie C Davis appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Onarga Township, Iroquois County, Illinois. They were with their grandparents Frank W and Jennie Davis. Audrey was 11, born in Illinois, and attended school. Angie was 8, attended school, and was born in North Dakota.5
