They rented their home for $22 and reported that they each lived in Bismarck in 1935. Francis was 31, birthplace North Dakota, high school education, and the previous week worked 48 hours as a retail salesman. The previous year he worked 52 weeks for $1700. Katherine was 25, attended college for one year, and was born in Montana. They had one daughter, Paula K, age 1, born in North Dakota.6
