Research Note Christina had a brother Allan who lived in Chesley who likely witnessed the marriage. But, there was also an Allan McLean enumerated next to John & Christina in the 1891 census in Bentinck, Grey County. 
1891 CensusChristina and John Snellgrove appeared on the 1891 Census of Bentinck Township, Grey County, Ontario. John was 48, born in England, parents born in England, and was a Furniture finisher. Christina was 50, born in Ontario, parents born in Scotland. They were Presbyterian and could both read and write.6 
1901 CensusJohn and Christina appeared on the 1901 Census of Goderich Township, Huron County, Ontario. John was 58, born Mar 25 1843 in England, immigrated in 1847?, Church of England, Undertaker working for 12 months for $450.
Cristina was 63, born Jan 6 1838 in Ontario, Presbyterian. With them was John's daughter Sarah born Sep 3 1889, Presbyterian.7 
DeathChristina died on 27 Jan 1910 in Southampton, Bruce County, Ontario.
Details from the register: female, Canadian, born 6 January 1835 at Vaughan Twp Ontario, age 75 years 21 days, died at Southampton 27 January 1910, wife of John Snelgrove, father Hector McLean born Scotland, mother's name not known. The informant was J E Snelgrove of Southampton. Cause of death was pneumonia of about 10 days duration.3
