(Heir) WillHe was named an heir in the will of his maternal grandfather Richard Oliver dated 2 Oct 1831. He and his two sisters were each to receive one large silver spoon.3

1881 CensusJames Pasmore and Sally Oliver appeared on the 1881 Census of Cadeleigh, Devon, at Cat Lake. James was 55, unmarried, District Superintendent for Fire and Life Insurance, and was born in Cheriton Fitzpaine. His aunt Sally Oliver, age 70, unmarried, born Cheriton Fitzpaine, was his housekeeper. An insurance clerk also was there.10 
1891 CensusJames Pasmore appeared on the 1891 Census of Cadeleigh, Devon, at Catlake. James was 65, single, Insurance agent and employer, and was born in Cheriton Fitzpaine. With him were a boarder, a visitor, and a housekeeper.11 
DeathJames died on 5 May 1898.12,13
 
ProbateHis estate was proved on 2 Jul 1898 in London. Entry from the probate calendar:

PASMORE James of Catlake-farm Codeleigh [sic] Devonshire died 5 May 1898. Probate London 2 July to John Zelley insurance-agent and John Balman farmer. Effects £1184 14s 9d.12
