1841 CensusCharles and Elizabeth Cordell appeared on the 1841 Census of St Mary Whitechapel, Tower Hamlets, Middlesex, at Mundys Place. Charles was 30 and a Wine Porter Journeyman. Elizabeth was 35. With them was John, age 1, and John (age 20, Carman). They were all recorded as born in the county, i.e. Middlesex. Note that the 1841 census records ages rounded down to the nearest 5 years, does not record relationships, and only indicates whether or not the person was born in the county.5 
1851 CensusCharles and Elizabeth Cordell appeared on the 1851 Census of Camberwell, Surrey, at Anns Cottage, Willow Brook Grove. Charles was 43, a Cellarman in the Wine Trade, and was born in Harlow Essex. Elizabeth was 46, a Domestic, and born in Northfleet, Kent. They had a visitor, Mary Golding (60, unmarried, born Cambridgeshire.)6 
1871 CensusCharles and Elizabeth appeared on the 1871 Census of St Giles Camberwell, Surrey, at 216 Neate Street. Charles was 63 years old, a Dock Laborer, and was born in Harlow, Essex. Elizabeth was 66 and born in Northfleet, Kent. No one else was in the household.7 
(Widowed) DeathHis wife Elizabeth died in 1879.8  
1881 CensusCharles Cordell appeared on the 1881 Census of Camberwell, Surrey, at 203 Neate Street. Charles was a widower, age 73, worked as a Shoe black & Porter, and was born in Harlow. He lodged at a general store Dealer's Shop.9 
DeathCharles died in 1889.10
