I have been doing genealogy research since the early 1990s. Like many others, I keep waiting to "finish the story" before publishing.  That of course will not happen. Much better to begin cleaning out the filing cabinets and get the content online. The number of original records now digitised is increasing at an astonishing rate, so this website will keep expanding.

An integral part of doing genealogy these days is DNA testing, which complements the paper trail. If you or a family member connect with the ancestral families on this website and have had a genealogy DNA test done or are contemplating doing so, I would like to hear from you.

Autosomal tests look at DNA inherited from any of your family tree branches.
Testing companies include Family Tree DNA (FTDNA), Ancestry.com, and 23andMe. Each has their strengths and weaknesses.
No matter where you test, it is highly beneficial to upload your results to Gedmatch.com.

DNA test results have already shown new connections and extended known lines in this database.

Please read about this website, then jump in and explore the rest.  There is much more to be added and which line I work on is often influenced by emails from distant cousins.
