The family (Arthur & Bonnycastle E with children Edward Bonnycastle, Helen Mary, Archibald Collier, and Isabel Ainee) arrived aboard the Empress of Japan which had traveled from Hong Kong, Shanghai, Nagasaki, Kobe, Yokohama with Canadian Pacific Ocean Services Ltd. The Mayne family was listed as Atheists with the father in the Civil Service. They had never been in Canada before. There are two copies of the passenger list; the second amended their final destination from Victoria to India.7 |
