(with Mother) 1881 CensusHe appeared on the 1881 Census of St Pancras, Middlesex in the household of his mother Mary Fernee. Joseph was 14, an Errand-boy, and born in St Pancras, Middlesex.2 
MarriageJoseph Fernee married Elizabeth Ann Strong in 1891.
Banns were published in St Mary Putney, Wandsworth, between Joseph Fernee, bachelor, and Elizabeth Ann Strong, spinster, both of the parish, on Feb 22nd, March 1st and March 8th 1891.4

1891 CensusJoseph and Elizabeth Ann appeared on the 1891 Census of St Pancras, London, at 98 Prince of Wales Road. Joseph was 24, worked as a Packer, and was born in St Pancras. Elizabeth Ann was 26 and born in Bristol, Gloucestershire. They lived in two rooms.6 
1901 CensusJoseph and Elizabeth A appeared on the 1901 Census of St Pancras, London, at 9 Malden Crescent. Three families lived at this address and the Fernees occupied the largest part, three rooms. Joseph was 34, worked as a Clock Fitter, and was born in Somers Town, London. Eliz A was 36 and born in Westbury West, Wilts. Their children Joseph Horace, May Elizabeth Ellen, Alexander Walter and Graham Francis were living with them.7 
Research Note There are two Fernee / Strong couples having children in the early 1910s. I am assigning Gertrude to Joseph and Elizabeth Ann because they live in Pancras and the registration is in St Pancras. Examination of her birth certificate is necessary to confirm. 
DeathJoseph died in 1919 in Pancras RD.8
