     David Teal, a farmer, was born in New York about 1795, moved to Canada, married Elizabeth and had several children there before they migrated to Raisinville Township in Monroe County, Michigan.

1850 CensusDavid and Elizabeth Teal appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Raisinville Township, Monroe County, Michigan, enumerated 12 Jul 1850. David was 55 and born in New York. Elizabeth was 48 and born in Canada. Neither of them could read or write. With them were Matilda (19), Henry (13), Catharine (11), Charles (9), and Michael (6), all born in Canada. Henry, Catharine, and Charles attended school. Also in the household was John Fridenburg, age 85, born New York.4
1860 CensusDavid and Elizabeth Teel [sic] appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Raisinville Township, enumerated 7 Jul 1860. David was 61, a farmer with real estate valued at $400 and personal estate of $195 [modest amounts], and was born in New York. Elizabeth was 59, born in Pennsylvania, and could not read or write. With them were Catharine, 19, and Michael, 21. Their nearest post office was the City of Monroe.5
1870 CensusDavid and Elizabeth Teal appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Raisinville Township, enumerated 7 Jul 1870. David was 75, a farmer owning land worth $1200 and personal goods worth $350 [these were fairly low values], and was born in New York. Elizabeth was 68, keeping house, unable to read or write, born in U.C. [Upper Canada - now Ontario], and her parents were foreign born. With them was Michael Teal age 26. Their nearest post office was Ida.3
DeathDavid died on 5 Jun 1875 in Raisinville, Monroe County, Michigan.

Research Note Born in NY according to dtr Louisa's death cert; wife perhaps surnamed Myers. 
Research Note John Fredenburg, age 85, born New York was with them in 1850, perhaps Elizabeth's father.
