Mary was 31, born 1 April 1869 in rural Ontario, and was Presbyterian. Their mother tongue was Gaelic. Their children were Susan (9), Alex (7), Ella (5), and Mary (2). Alexander owned a 5 room wood house on 1/4 acre.3

Alexander was born Nov 1855 in Ontario, age 45, Scotch, Canadian, Presbyterian, a contractor working on his own account. Mary was 43, born April 1857 in Ontario. Their children were Susannah (18), Earl G (15), Mary F (12), Willie P (8), and Janet L (7.)5 
(Next-of-kin) CEFFather Alexander Begg of Underwood was listed as next-of-kin on the Canadian Expeditionary Force attestation papers of his son Earl Gilchrist Begg on 16 Feb 1916.6  
(Mentioned) Passenger ListAlexander Duncan Begg was mentioned on a passenger manifest for Susan Begg on 11 Oct 1916, as her nearest relative in Canada, namely father Alexander Begg of Bruce Ontario.7 
Research Note Alexander was not at home for the 1921 census. There is a possibility for him in the Cariboo in British Columbia, where his son Earl was. The entry in the South Pine Mill Camp is for Alexander Begg, age 54, married, born in Ontario, parents born in Ontario, Baptist, occupation teamster at a sawmill, earning $800.8 
DeathAlexander died in 1953.9
