(with Parents) 1851 CensusEmma appeared on the 1851 Census of Harlow, Essex with her parents. She was 9, a scholar, and born in Harlow.3 
(Sibling) 1861 CensusShe appeared on the 1861 Census of Islington, Middlesex, as a sister-in-law in the household of John and Sarah Gillett. Emma was 19 years old, unmarried, formerly a servant (cook), and was born in Harlow, Essex.4 
MarriageEmma Cordell married Charles Forster on 22 Jun 1861 in St Mary's, Harlow, Essex.

Research Note Children's birth registrations use the surname spelling Foster. 
1871 CensusCharles and Emma Foster appeared on the 1871 Census of Barking, Essex, at Chadwell Ward, Goodmayse Cottages. Charles was 29, an agricultural laborer. Emma was 30. Their children were Anne (9) and Emily (6). All were born in Harlow.5 
Research Note There is a 1872 entry in the GRO death index for Charles Foster, age 32, Romford RD (which includes Barking.) 
Research Note There is a 1873 entry in the GRO marriage index for Emily [sic] Foster and James Hawkins in Romford RD. James and Emily are together in the 1881 census, where Emily is 40 years old with a birthplace of Harlow. Also in the household were two lodgers, Anne and Emily Foster, which of course are Emma/Emily's children.
