Christopher Wilhelm Kolthammer1
#22105, (1802 - )
Father | Johann Rudolf Kolthammer1 (1758 - 1821) |
Mother | Anna Schröder1 (1762 - 1819) |
Life Events | |
Birth | Christopher Wilhelm Kolthammer was born in 1802 in Insel.1 |
Possibly Same | He and Johann Wilhelm Kolthammer were possibly the same person. Johann Wilhelm is know to be a son of Johann Rudolph, as recorded in his marriage to Catharine Versemann. The only son of Johann Rudolph with the name Wilhelm is Christopher Wilhelm, for whom there are no records in the Schneverdingen register after his baptism. It is possible that I missed seeing Johann Wilhelm's baptism when reading the register microfilm but the children are evenly spaced beginning right after his parents' marriage and continuing until Anna was 46 years old. |

William Hay1
#20739, (1839 - 1914)
Father | George Hay1 (1818 - 1876) |
Mother | Jane Grant1 (c 1818 - ) |

(Passenger) Passenger List | William Hay, age 9, was listed with his parents, on a passenger list for the Ajax in 1848.3 |
Death | William died on 7 Sep 1914.4 |
Obituary | His obituary was published on 8 Sep 1914 in the Clutha Leader. OBITUARY ----*-*-*---- MR WILLIAM HAY, "HILLY PARK." It is with deep regret we announce the death of Mr William Hay, of "Hilly Park," Romahapa, which took place at his residence yesterday afternoon. Mr Hay had been in failing health for a long time, and it was generally known that his condition was serious. Mr Hay was a son of Mr George Hay, one of the very earliest settlers in the Clutha district, and came out with his parents in the Ajax in 1849, when a lad of 10 years. During the whole of his life Mr Hay had been intimately connected with the life of the Clutha. He was a member of the old South Molyneux Road Board, and up till a few weeks ago was a member of the Clutha County Council, resigning from that body only because of his illness. He also took a keen interest in the welfare of church work. Mr Hay was also a member of the Clutha River Board for years, a school committeeman, and in many other ways took a leading part in local and general politics. It can well be said that in William Hay the Clutha has lost one whom it could ill-afford to lose --- a man whose word was indeed as good as his bond, and one who was looked up to and respected by all who knew him. The sympathy of a very large circle of friends will be extended to his widow and 11 children who survive him. The family are: William G., solicitor, Dunedin; George, at home; Dr Sidney, in London; John E., in Dunedin; Herbert, who is at the University in Dunedin; and Norman, who is at school. The daughters are Mrs M T Jackman, Mrs North (Timaru) and Misses Eva, Edith and Nettie. The funeral is to take place on Thursday.4 |
