Angus was 34, born in Ontario, father born in Ontario, mother born in Scotland, religion Presbyterian, and was a Grocer. Ellen was 26, born in Ontario, father born in Ontario, mother in Scotland, and her religion was Presbyterian. They had one son, Percy S (3.)9

1901 CensusAngus and Jean [sic] McLean appeared on the 1901 Census of Paisley Village, Bruce County, Ontario. Angus was born 16 June 1856 in rural Ontario, age 44, Scotch, Presbyterian, a General Merchant and employer working on his own account, could read, write, and speak English, mother tongue Gaelic. Jean was 35 and born 11 April 1865 in Ontario, mother tongue Gaelic. Their children were Percy (13), George (8), Mabel (5), and Florence (2). They leased an 8 room wood house, lot & outbuilding.3

NoteAngus McLean was noted to be now representing a large Toronto wholesale house. It was mentioned in the [unidentified] newspaper that he spent several days in 1910 in High River, Alberta.12 
1911 CensusAngus and Nellie appeared on the 1911 Census of Toronto, Ontario, at 231 Pacific. Angus was 50, born June 1861 in Ontario, Scotch, Canadian, Presbyterian, Traveller for Denton Mi----, earned $1200. Nellie was 46, born April 1869 in Ontario. With them were their children Percy (23), George (18), Mable (15), Florence (12), and John (9), as well as Nellie's sister Mary McKay (25, single.)13

1921 CensusAngus and Ellen appeared on the 1921 Census of Toronto, Ontario, at 77 Maverty. They owned their 6 room brick house. Angus was 64, born in Ontario, occupation traveller. Ellen was 56 and born in Ontario. Their children at home were Percy (33, insurance), Mabel (25, teacher), Florence (22), and John F (19, clerk). The family was Presbyterian.15
