Witnesses were Rich Pullen & Elizabeth Whicker, who were witnesses to many of the marriages there so likely didn't know Charles and Elizabeth.3

MarriageHe married Mary Thorn on 3 Sep 1770 in Pinhoe, Devon.
Details from the register: John Stocker, Husbandman, & Mary Thorn, Spinster, both of this parish, married by Banns. They both signed with their mark and the witnesses were [John's sister] Sarah Stocker (X) and the clerk Willm Stamp.2 
Note.The 1780 baptism of his son Silas in the Broadclyst register noted that they were of Poltimore.3 
Note.On the baptism records of his daughter Mary (1784) and son Joseph (1786) it was noted that John was a pauper.4 
DeathJohn died in 1823.5
 
BurialHe was buried on 16 Apr 1823 in Broadclyst, Devon. He was 79 years old and of Town.5 
(Widowed) DeathHis wife Mary died in 1825.6
