James Fernee told of a visit c1901 to his cousin Anthony Storey's daughter Mrs. Higgins, baker and confectioner in Hornsey. He wrote, "In the course of conversation Mrs. Higgins related of a funeral which took place at Hornsey, I think it was Father's cousin Anthony Storey's grand mother, she was a Fernee, however the remarkable but the usual [sic] thing was, that six sons were the mourners, young and elder were all baldheaded, that is a sure brand of the family, I have never yet known any other."5
